The Plaza del Sol Performance Hall

Note: Federal law prohibits workdays that extend beyond 16 hours.
Events require a minimum of two Regular full-time Performance Hall Staff (a Stage Supervisor and a House Manager), three (student) technical staff and four (student) house staff. Licensee is responsible for meeting with the Plaza del Sol Performance Hall’s Technical Director (818-677-7684) and House Manager (818-677-5776) no later than 3 weeks prior to the event to make a final determination of the event's staffing and equipment needs. Failure to meet with the Technical Director and House Manager will result in Plaza del Sol Performance Hall staff independently determining staffing needs for the event . Note: University Pool Stage Techs may be substituted for your event at the discretion of the technical director.
University security personnel will assist with events if requested by Licensee at least three weeks in advance of the event (to request security, contact the Plaza del Sol Performance Hall Operations Manager at 818-677-5771). The University may also, at its sole discretion and at any time it determines security is needed, require security personnel to be utilized for an event. Licensee shall be responsible for all security costs whether requested by Licensee or required by the University.
House and technical staff working on events shall be billed at the following rates
(Please note that a 4-hour minimum call is required unless otherwise stated):
Student Tech Staff
$16.00/person/hour for first 8 hours per day
$24.00/person/hour for hours over 8 but less than 12 per day
$32.00/person/hour for hours over 12 in a day
Student House Staff
$64.00/hour flat rate for full house staff for first 8 hours per day
$96.00/hour flat rate for full house staff for over 8 but less than 12 hours per day
$128.00/hours flat rate for full house staff for over 12 hours per day
Performance Hall Stage/House Supervisors
$38.00/hour for first 8 hours per day
$57.00/hr for hours over 8 but less than 12 per day
$76.00/hour for hours over 12 per day
University Stage Techs
$25.00/hour for first 8 hours per day
$37.50/hr for hours over 8 but less than 12 per day
$50.00/hour for hours over 12 per day
Casual Labor/ Technical House Staff
$20.00/hour for first 8 hours per day
$30.00/hour for hours over 8 but less than 12 per day
$40.00/hour for hours over 12 per day
Student Union Building Manager
$15.00/hour
Ticket Office Personnel
$15.00/hour for hours worked in Associated Student Ticket Office at time of event; min. of 3 hours (Applicable only if tickets are being sold through the Campus Ticket Office on the day of the event.)
Campus Police Officers
$60.00/hour (if needed, must have a min. of 2, sole discretion of University Staff)
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT RENTAL
Rental of the Plaza del Sol Performance Hall includes use of all sound, lighting and technical equipment in the Center at no additional cost, with the exception of the following equipment for which the indicated additional charges will apply:

- Multimedia/Video Projector - $150 per day
- On Stage Monitor Mix with Bi-Amplified System - $200 per day
- Pit Cover (Removed & Replaced) - $200 per day
- Marley Dance Floor - $300 per installation
- 35 mm Projector(s) [Requires certified projectionist] - $150 per day
- Film Screening Speaker System - $200 per day
- Follow Spots - $75 per day per unit
- Martin 575 Moving Lights (4) - $100 per day
PIANO TUNING
Rental of the Plaza del Sol Performance Hall includes use of the Center’s seven-foot Yamaha grand piano at no additional cost. If Licensee requests tuning of the piano at least three weeks in advance of the event, the Plaza del Sol Performance Hall will arrange for the piano to be tuned the day of the performance, subject to availability of the piano tuning technician and/or conflicts with the Center’s schedule. Licensee shall be charged $150 for each piano tuning performed.
Please note: Only piano technicians approved by the Plaza del Sol Performance Hall may tune the piano.
